FACEBOOK CHARACTER PROFILES

Students build Facebook profiles for their characters using information from the text to round out the basic profile, and then update and communicate them according to the plot of the story. Adding digital images would require researching fashion and appearance, architectural and decorating fads of the time period. Cues in the script could indicate the type of friends they might attract which could be fictitiously created based on facts and on assumption in the text. The blogging tool could be used to great effect among the characters for exploring the possibilities in creating the role. Period appropriate music and literature choices could be explored to get a better feeling for the time setting, and some geographical, climate, and horticultural research would be a must for getting a better handle on how to respond to the setting. The possibilities are endless.
